Today’s whisky is Kilchoman Alberta Exclusive Madeira Cask Finish. Bottled at 56.2% ABV, this is a wonderfully smoky, wine influenced whisky all the way through.
Nose: Smoky, nutty, robust wine notes of dark fruit and spice.
Palate: Heavy peat smoke with big sweet wine flavours.
Finish: Long, sweet and spicy, burnt wine barrel staves and wine-dipped cigars.
Rating: 9.0/10
I recommend sitting down beside the fire with this dram tonight once all the hustling and bustling is done and over with. However you enjoy it… I hope it’s a very Merry Malt moment! Get a good night sleep and we’ll see you all tomorrow for the final day! Cheers!
