Octomore 6.3 Islay Barley

Octomore 6.3 Islay Barley was distilled using 100% Islay Barley grown and harvested by farmer James Brown at Lorgba, which is a field on Octomore farm. The barley was saturated with peat to an incredible 258 ppm, the highest ever released in the whisky industry. It is non-chill filtered and no colour added and matured for 5 short years.

The Balvenie Double Wood 12-Year-old

The Balvenie Double Wood 12-year-old is first matured in traditional ex-bourbon American oak which mellows the spirit imparts layers of vanilla spice. It then has a second maturation in European oak Sherry casks. This increases the complexity by adding fuity and honey notes to this flagship dram.

Douglas Laing’s Old Particular Cameronbridge 26-year-old Single Grain

Cameronbridge is a grain whisky distillery founded in 1824 by the Haig family. It is located on the banks of the River Leven, just north of Edinburgh. Although it was founded in 1824, illicit distilling was said to have taken place at Cameronbridge as far back as 1655. Which would make it one of the oldest continuously running distilleries in Scotland and possibly the oldest grain distillery in the world.

Bowmore 18-Year-Old

We are going back to the Hebridean Isle of Islay again this Whisky Wednesday, and this time we will be visiting Bowmore Distillery on the South Eastern shore of Loch Indaal. Bowmore Distillery is one of the oldest in Scotland. Records show it being established in 1779.
