February 4th Whiskiversary – The Journey Began

It was a year ago that Adam, an auto mechanic and heavy events athlete (who tosses cabers and stones) and Greg – an academic administrator and scholar with vicarious interests in the sport (but little athletic ability to show) began their blog of discovering Blue Collar and Scholar’s ‘whiskysphere. Although different in physique and professions, in common (besides both families originating from the same parts of Scotland) they are both curious types, with a shared hankering for the occasional dram and the stories that flow with it.

Why were we doing this? Back then and still now, we were in search of what whisky pairing means to people who want to share their story. We believe that sharing the story of the whisky experience is a story that helps align our worlds wherever we may live, if only for a moment, and if only with the aid of the dram.

Over the past year we have discovered an amazing array of single malt Scotch from the various whisky regions of Scotland and an existential relationship between the ancient distilling process of using pot stills, yeast and malted barley for producing the ‘water of life’ and a sensorial experience for those willing to explore.

We invite you still to share your story! Whether it is a favourite memory of your first dram? Your favourite whisky in a storm? Your go-to dram with a cigar… or what single malts compliment certain foods, moods, activities or events. What ever it is that you like to pair a dram with, we would like to hear about it!
