The third pairing of the “Blaster Casks” series is when things got interesting! Batch #56 of Aberlour A’bunadh Cask Strength did not disappoint. This whisky is matured 100% in Oloroso Sherry Butts giving it intense sherry, oak and fruity flavours with notes of chocolate.
Once again the food pairing was a dinger! Our guests were served duck confit with pickled onions and toasted baguette. I have never been a fan of duck until I met Chef John D. Walls @culinarymagic. The sweetness of this dish complemented this Sherry Bomb of a dram perfectly!
