Blaster Casks.. first off!

Well this past weekend we hosted the second in our series of whisky tasting and pairing, “Blaster Casks”, in Powell River British Columbia. In this series we featured whiskies from all over Scotland that have been finished in unique casks to add even more character to these amazing drams. Chef John D. Walls @culinarymagic again did us the honour of creating some exquisite dishes to pair with a few selections.

We started the evening with a light plate of smoked meats and olives. The first dram of the evening was Tullibardine 225. This interesting Highland Whisky has been finished in a 225 liter Sauternes french dessert wine cask. This results in a very tasty whisky that is creamy and fruity.

Was it the favourite of the evening? You’ll have to wait until all have been revealed to find out!
